Meet your farmers
M&S has a heritage of working closely with UK and Irish producers. Take a farm tour above to meet some of the individuals who supply us and find out about the work they do, in support of our Plan A commitments, to produce fantastic quality food and flowers.
Through Plan A, M&S is committed to sourcing as much of its food as possible from the UK and Republic of Ireland. In fact we already source a significant proportion of food from the UK, for example, we bought 48% of all UK-grown cherries in the last year.
We also continue to explore ways to grow new crops in the UK, such as sugar snap peas, sweet potatoes and melons, and to extend the UK growing seasons for fruit and vegetables in order to reduce our reliance on air-freighting from abroad. All this helps to cut our carbon emissions from transporting food and create a more sustainable future for UK and Irish agriculture.
