We're proud to have been awarded gold standard in the Marine Conservation Society's (MCS) Supermarket Seafood Survey 2011*. The survey looks at every retailer’s seafood policy, rating it in terms of the breadth of products it covers (for example, whether a policy covers both wild and farmed seafood) and what sustainability initiatives are included.
In the survey, MCS described us as having "the most comprehensive seafood policy of all the retailers". The charity was also very impressed by the "pro active work that M&S are doing in driving sustainability forward in the seafood industry through research, projects and initiatives in fish farms and wild fisheries at sea."
We're delighted that our work has been recognised and, of course, we'll carry on with these initiatives, which is part of our Forever Fish campaign. Why not visit your local M&S food hall and see our wide range of delicious, sustainably sourced fish for yourself?
