A clam is a type of bivalve mollusc with a shell made of two equal halves, connected by a hinge joint. The edible part of a clam lives inside the two halves of the shell. Clams are roughly oval in shape and grow on or buried just under the seabed.
Clam meat has a delicate flavour and soft texture. It’s also low in staurated fat and a rich source of iron and zinc.
While creditable eco-labels are not yet available for this species, we’re planning to work with the producers of our clams to go through a credible certification process.
