Full of beans, not artificial colours

Kids love bright colours. That's why you'll never see a grey lollipop. However the cakes, sweets and soft drinks children love are rarely brightly coloured by nature. Artificial colourings are often added to the product to make them look especially appealing to kids.

But several studies have now shown that many of these artificial additives can cause temper tantrums and disruptive behaviour in young children. In 2002, the Food Standards Agency concluded that 'significant changes in children's hyperactive behaviour could be produced by the removal of colourings and additives from their diet.' That's whey we've pledged to only use natural colours in our children's sweets and cakes. In fact, we've already banned over half the additives permitted by the EU from our food, and 99% of our foods are free from artificial colourings or flavourings.

Our work has been fully endorsed by the Hyperactive Children's Support Group. So next time you treat your kids to a few sweets, you can be sure they'll be full of beans, not full of artificial colours
