Back in December we ran a 'Design a Fairtrade T-shirt' competition for kids aged 7-14 with the award-winning First News paper (www.firstnews.co.uk).
We were amazed by the response. Over 4000 kids sent their entries in - it's the best response First News have ever had from a competition! These entries were short-listed and then 10 runners-up were chosen by judges from M&S and First News. From these, we picked out the two most innovative and on-trend designs - one for boys and one for girls.
We invited the lucky two winners into M&S head office near Paddington in London. As well as being presented with their prize, a Nintendo Dsi X, they got to see how their designs would be made into Fairtrade cotton t-shirts. The schools of the winners also received a cheque each for £1000.
You can get your hands on the winning designs exclusively online after Easter - and of course by buying Fairtrade cotton you're helping farmers in the developing world invest in their communities. Well done to our winners!
