We're significantly reducing the amount of carrier bags and packaging that we use, and are looking for new ways to recycle what we do use. By 2012 we aim to ensure that none of our clothing or packaging needs to end up as landfill.

Having reduced usage by more than 60%, we aim to continue reducing the number of carrier bags used.

Having reduced the overall environmental impact of our carriers bags by 83% since 2006, along with other major retailers, we have committed to reduce the total number of bags used by 50% by the end of May 2009 as part of a revised Carrier Agreement with the UK Government.
Waste progress so far
Since we started charging our food carrier bags we have seen an 80% reduction in the number of bags we've given out.
