This year, we're adding a new dimension to our hanger recycling programme. When you leave your hangers at the till point as you pay, not only are you helping to protect the environment, you're helping children too - the more money we save through hanger recycling, the more we can donate to UNICEF, the world's leading children's charity.

Recycling a hanger means we don't have to make a new one, saving money and valuable raw materials. Last year we collected 152 million clothes hangers, saving 15,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide - now we're aiming for an additional 50 million a year.

We'll donate 57p to UNICEF UK (Reg. Charity No. 1072612), for each box of hangers recycled, and aim to donate at least £650,000 per year over the next three years to help UNICEF transform the lives of children and families around the world. Starting in Bangladesh, UNICEF will pilot a new programme to reach some of the poorest children and their communities in 2 districts of the country - Mymensingh and Dhaka. These projects aim to improve every aspect of their lives, including providing health care, access to clean drinking water, and ensuring an education for children within these communities.

You can help by remembering to leave your hangers for recycling every time you shop. Just 1 box of hangers for recycling could provide a child with clean water for a fortnight, 3 boxes could provide life saving food for a malnourished child for a year, while 25 boxes could give a child who has never been to school a month's vital basic education.
