Thank you to all M&S customers and employees who helped to make Macmillan's World's Biggest Coffee Morning a huge success.
On September 28th 2012, M&S Café supported The World's Biggest Coffee Morning for the third year running, helping thousands of people to host a coffee morning, enjoy a cuppa with friends and be part of the estimated five million people who, together, raised over £13 million for Macmillan.
The World's Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support's annual flagship fundraising event which sees people across the UK getting together with friends and hosting a coffee morning to raise money for people affected by cancer.
Funds were raised by M&S customers holding their own coffee mornings, through M&S store collections, pretty pin badges and Little Book of Treats sales. Donations through selected M&S Café sandwiches, sweet snacks and 50p from every coffee on the day also helped to make the 22nd World's Biggest Coffee Morning a sweet success.
The partnership has raised over £1 million since it began 3 years ago and we hope that with the help of M&S customers and staff who took part in coffee morning this year, we will have reached £1.5 million by the end of 2012.

This money goes towards funding the Macmillan Support Line, a free phone support service for anyone affected by cancer, staffed by Macmillan Cancer Support specialists. They can answer questions about cancer types and treatments, provide practical and financial support to help people live with cancer, and are there if someone just wants to talk. The funds raised by M&S customers and employees have helped them continue to answer an average of 2,500 calls per week.
Lyn, 46 from Berkshire used the Support Line while undergoing breast cancer treatment. She said: "I would stay up all night thinking, 'How am I going to pay my bills? But after speaking to Macmillan for the first time that weight was really lifted. They talked me through my worries, reassured me and clearly explained what benefits I could apply for and how.
"Since then, I've kept ringing the Macmillan Support Line whenever I've needed to. They are the ones I know I can turn to for support and answers."
