Closed Loop Recycling

Join us in supporting Closed Loop's Office Recycling Scheme, if you have a collection in your local area you can help to reduce the amount we send to landfill.

Let's send less to landfill!

Every year millions of tonnes of commercial waste goes straight to landfill.

We all play our part: each time we eat lunch at our desks and throw the sandwich wrapper or drink bottle straight in the bin we're adding to the waste.

At M&S, we sell a large amount of sandwiches and lunchtime snacks, so it seems only right that we try and reduce waste sent to landfill. That's why we've teamed up with Closed Loop Recycling to help you set up your own office recycling scheme.

If the facilities are available in your area, you'll be able to throw all your recyclable rubbish in the same bin without having to separate it - and everything that would have gone straight to landfill will be recycled or reprocessed instead.

To recycle packaging it does need to be made of recyclable material. Nearly all of our Food on the Move sandwiches and snacks packaging - 90% - is recyclable (the other 10% - things like confectionery and crisp packaging - can't be recycled anywhere in the UK).

At the Closed Loop Recycling plant, the first in the UK, appropriate packaging is turned into food grade flakes, which in turn is used to make new packaging. So your M&S smoothie bottle will go through the system and come back as new M&S packaging!

Closed Loop Recycling, supported by your M&S, is available in the following areas: Greater London, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester.
